Data from supermarkets was obtained by scrapping the major portals for Sell In monitoring, medical visits (VEEVA), sales performance analysis at the brick level (IMS, Nielsen, Close Up, DDD), and with data from their ERP to calculate Sell Out at the sales force level, region, and product. A middle semantic layer was created in Snowflake to provide insight to decision makers through Power BI dashboards, with customized access to hundreds of users at the LATAM level and automated reports for the rest of the audience.
We migrated to Azure Data Factory and Synapse technologies from Redshift, Cloudera, Snowflake and others to homologate the corporate decision to have a single strategy in a Microsoft environment. We created data pipelines in a visual way for each country and business area as appropriate and storing the information in a semantic laver for later use with Power BI. We created dashboards for sales, marketing, finance, etc.
By taking information from the point of sale at the ticket level, with a volume of more than 14 billion records, a datalake was developed with Synapse and Analysis Services from Azure to create the optimal data model that would allow the generation of dashboards and commercial reports. With Power BI Premium Capacity, the needs of both executive and operational audiences were met with the automated delivery of reports at the level of detail and security required by each user.
